Lord Lieutenants Awards

The Lord Lieutenant of Surrey Annual Awards ceremony was held at Farnham TA Centre recently, The Lord Lt, Mrs Sarah Goad, presented a Certificate of Meritorious Service to Lt (SCC) Kevin Milligan RNR for his dedicated service to the Sea Cadet Corps and to Camberley Unit TS Diadem. Kevin stood down at Camberley in 2007 after ten years as Commanding Officer. During that time Camberley became a consistent Burgee Unit as well as winning the "McBeath Trophy" in 2004. Kevin was also the Area nomination for the "Roddie Casement Sword" in 2005. He left Camberley in March of 2007 to take over as Commanding Officer at Farnham Unit where he first started as a cadet.

The Lord Lt also presented Lt (SCC) Victoria Milligan with her Cadet Forces Medal which marks 12 years service as an adult in the Sea Cadet Corps. As well as being the current CO of Camberley Unit, Vicky is the Deputy District Officer for Surrey. Pictured are both the Lt Milligans with Mrs Goad.

The Lord Lts Sea Cadet of the year for Surrey in 2007 was presented to L/C Jodie Meades from TS Diadem Camberley Unit. Jodie's outstanding performance in the field as an Expedition Leader made her one of the youngest members of the Corps to achieve an EL 5 qualification. She has sailed on Royalist and is keen on all of the activities that are undertaken at TS Diadem. Jodie will now escort the Lord Lieutenant at various Military and Civic functions.
